Kick off meeting of the EU funded “BeneVict” project
Kick off meeting of the EU funded “BeneVict” project successfully held on 7-8 July.
The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) is participating as a partner in the new project BeneVict “Analysis of benefits of full implementation of the Victims’ Rights Directive” funded by the European Union (DG Justice and Consumers Affairs, CERV programme) . The partnership includes twenty three partner organizations across the EU and is led by Victims Support Europe (VSE).
The BeneVict project aims to support the EU and Member States (MSs) in their future action on common values and implementation of the EU Victims’ Rights Strategy as well as to support MSs in the development of their own national strategies.
The project will collect evidence regarding the state of play regarding practical implementation of the Victims' Rights Directive across the EU and identify data collection practices in the Member States regarding victims and victimisation.
The project will also aim, for the first time in the EU, to identify cost of victimisation and benefits of victim support in four pilot MSs - Estonia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
Project findings will be used by partners to develop an advocacy and capacity building component, which will support them in using project results to advance the rights of victims in their countries.
An extensive effort to disseminate project results will expand throughout the project, and a final project conference will be organised in Brussels to promote final results.
The Kick off meeting of the project was successfully held in Brussels on 7-8 July 2022.
