Online event on Artificial Intelligence

The online event on "Artificial Intelligence (?)a first discussion on the draft Regulation on Artificial Intelligence", was held with great success on Wednesday16 June by the Institute for the Protection of Privacy, Personal Data and Technology of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).

Distinguished academics and researchers participated in the discussion, which analyzed the huge impact that Artificial Intelligence will have on the way people will live and work in the coming decades.

The event was initiated by the Director of the European Public Law Organization Professor Spyridon Flogaitis, and the President of the Institute for Justice and Development and Executive Director of the Institute for the Protection of Privacy, Personal Data and Technology, Mr Nicolas Kanellopoulos.

The keynote speaker of the event was the Minister of Digital Policy Kyriakos Pierrakakis. This was followed by Mrs. Maria Kanellopoulou - Boti, Professor of Information Law at the Department of Archives - Librarianship - Museology of the Ionian University, Vassilis Karkatzounis, Lawyer - Member of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Justice on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence , MIT Media Lab, Antigoni Papanikolaou, Legal and Government Affairs Director- Microsoft Greece, Cyprus & Malta and Stavroula Tsinorema, Professor of Philosophy and Bioethics at the University of Crete.

The President of the Institute for the Protection of Privacy, Personal Data and Technology, Professor at the University of the Aegean, Ms. Lillian Mitrou, coordinated the fruitful dialogue and concluded with the importance of a multidimensional and interdisciplinary approach.
