ELGS Board of Trustees convenes for the first time at the Palazzo Altemps

The Board of Trustees of the European Law and Governance School (ELGS) convened in Rome for the first time at the historic Palazzo Altemps on Monday, 27 October 2025. The meeting marked an important milestone in the School’s development and strategic vision for advancing excellence in legal and governance education across Europe and beyond.

The Board was also received by His Excellency, the President of the Italian Republic, Mr. Sergio Mattarella, who serves as the Honorary President of the ELGS. The audience underscored the strong commitment of Italy and the European academic community to fostering educational institutions that promote democratic values, the rule of law, and effective governance.

Among those present were distinguished Board members, Honorary President of the Board Prof. Giuliano Amato, and President of the Board Prof. Daria de Pretis. Their participation reflected the Board’s dedication to strengthening the mission of the ELGS and its contribution to European and international education in law and governance.

Headquartered in Rome, the European Law and Governance School is an international university established by the European Public Law Organization (EPLO). It is dedicated to preparing the next generation of leaders for careers in international institutions, public administration, and global governance. Through its innovative programs, the ELGS continues to cultivate a diverse community of scholars, practitioners, and policymakers united by a shared commitment to excellence and service in the European and international public sphere.

The European Law and Governance School operates under the auspices of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).
