EPLO’s Contribution to the HCAA’s Third Anniversary and the Advancement of Sustainable Aviation Governance

The Institute of Circular Economy and Climate proudly represented the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) on Wednesday 7 of May at the official event marking the presentation of the commemorative volume celebrating the third anniversary of the establishment of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA). Professor Flogaitis and Mr. George Kremlis have produced a contribution in writing to the commemorative volume.

The event featured distinguished speakers, including the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Christos Staikouras, and the current Minister, Mr. Christos Dimas.

During his address, the Governor of the HCAA, Mr. Christos Tsitouras, presented the Authority’s significant achievements over its short period of operation, achievements that have garnered praise from both the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the former Executive Director of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). He highlighted the goals that have already been accomplished as well as those underway, establishing the HCAA as an international case study in effective governance and innovation.

Mr. Tsitouras also commended the fruitful collaboration between the HCAA and the Institute of Circular Economy and Climate of the EPLO, emphasizing its pivotal role in advancing sustainable aviation practices, SAFS and green airports. He further announced the forthcoming establishment of an Aviation Academy, in which the EPLO will play an active and integral role.

The event underscored the commitment of all stakeholders to promoting innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the aviation sector, aligning with global objectives for sustainable development and climate action.
