Cape Verde signs Agreement with EPLO and welcomes an EPLO Branch in its territory

An Agreement was signed between the Republic of Cape Verde, represented by H.E. the Minister of Justice, Ms. Joana Gomes Rosa Amado, and the EPLO, represented by its Director, Professor Spyridon Flogaitis, which foresees that Cape Verde becomes an EPLO Member State and establishes an EPLO Regional Branch in Cape Verde.

The Agreement ceremony was attended by a Cape Verde delegation, consisting of the Minister of Justice, H.E. the Ambassador of Cabo Verde to the UN in Geneva, Ms. Clara Delgado, and Mr. Julio Mascarenhas, Legal Advisor to the Minister.On behalf of EPLO, the participants were Ambassador Mr. P. Kalogeropoulos, the Dean of the Εuropean Law and Governance School, Judge Mr. Luis María Díez-Picazo, Ms. P. Spiliopoulou, General Director of Educational Programs, Mr. G. Politis, Journalist, Ms. S. Manioudaki, Director of Marketing and Communication, Ms. A. Fiumi, Director of the Events and Missions Office, and Ms. K. Stamatekou from the Legal Department of the Organization.

The agreement outlines the framework for establishing and functioning the EPLO Regional Branch in Cape Verde, ensuring a solid foundation for EPLO’s initiatives and collaborative efforts in the country. This strategic development marks a significant milestone for both parties, reinforcing Cape Verde’s commitment to international cooperation and the promotion of the Rule of Law.

The establishment of the EPLO Regional Branch in Cape Verde opens the door to a range of impactful initiatives in the field of the Rule of Law and educational development. It also presents a unique opportunity for EPLO to expand its presence and activities in West Africa, fostering regional engagement and promoting legal and institutional excellence.

The Minister, Ms. Joana Gomes Rosa Amado, and the Cape Verde delegation, during their visit, discussed potential areas of cooperation with the EPLO Directors of Departments and had the chance to attend the European Law and Governance School's Graduation ceremony that took place on the 3rd of April.
