F. Frattini passed away on Christmas eve
With deep sorrow, we announce that Franco Frattini, Member of the European Group of Public Law, passed away on the 24th of December. He was President of the Council of State of the Italian Republic and had served also as Foreign Minister in the last government chaired by Silvio Berlusconi, from 2008 to 2011; Franco Frattini had been head of Italian diplomacy between 2002 and 2004 and served as Minister in the government of Lamberto Dini. He had also been European Commissioner from 2004 to 2008 under the Presidency of Josè Manuel Barroso. In 1996 he was also elected in the Forza Italia lists and then again in 2008 for the PDL.
Frattini passed away at 65 years of age at the Gemelli hospital in Rome, where he had been hospitalized for some time.
