Int'l Conference in Hungary by EPLO and Szeged University on Law and Democracy

The International and Regional Studies’ Institute of the University of Szeged, Faculty of Law, Europe Direct Szeged and the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) cordially invites you to the international conference titled “Democracy and law in European integration and in international relations”. The conference takes place in Szeged, Hungary, on 10-11 May 2018. The first day of the conference is a plenary session with invited speakers, while for the second day we issue a call for papers.

This is a two-day-long international conference: the first day is a plenary session with highly renowned speakers, while for the second day we issue a call for papers. Those wishing to participate as speakers of the second day should send a 300-word-long abstract in English, relating to the concept of the conference, in one of the following topics, as the summary of the planned 15-20-minute-long speech:

1) Law and democracy;
2) Democracy in the European integration;
3) Democracy in international relations.

Besides the abstract, please also send a short curriculum vitae.

Deadline for sending in the abstracts and CV: March 25, 2018

Eligibility: primarily university lecturers of any level and PhD students are eligible to speak at the conference, but based on the relevance and quality of the abstract speakers with other affiliation can be chosen as well.

Selection of speakers: Speakers are chosen based on the relevance and quality of the abstracts, and will be informed about their selection to be a speaker not later than March 30, 2018.

Publication of conference proceedings: a study based on the conference speech can be published either in EPLO Central and Eastern European Legal Studies (CEELS) or in the European Review of Public Law journal, based on the recommendation of anonym peer-review required for in these journals. Further details of publication will be available for the selected speakers.
