The EPLO at World Bank’s annual meeting
Prof. Chrysoula P. Moukiou, Associate Professor of Administrative Law, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences of Athens, Greece, represented the EPLO in this year's "Law, Justice and Development Week" (LJD) which is held annually by the World Bank in Washington DC.
Each year, the LJD Week brings together World Bank Group staff, senior officials from other international financial institutions, international development practitioners, government officials, lawyers, judges, scholars and representatives from civil society.
This year, the LJD Week focused on Europe. An in-depth look at legal, economic and social developments, including an exploration of how we think of "Europe" ranging from the European Union to accession countries, to continental Europe as a whole. The discussion focused on the following four themes:
- Europe as a contributor to the global development agenda
- Addressing poverty and shared prosperity within Europe
- The ongoing financial crisis in Europe
- Migration into and within Europe
Prof. Moukiou represented the EPLO both as a member of the Global Forum on Law, Justice and Development, a World Bank initiative, but also as an "expert-on-call" on the theme/topic "Administrative litigation and public procurement law".
