The Academy of Transparency & Human Rights is deeply saddened by the loss of President M.Soares
The Academy of Transparency & Human Rights deeply regrets to announce the sad demise of President Mário Soares. 17th President of Portugal, President Soares was a very important political personality. An outstanding, influential figure of public life in Portugal, Europe and internationally, a human rights eager defender, he fought for democracy in his country until its restoration.
The Director of the Academy had the great honor of having been his student in Paris while studying at the École Nationale d’ Administration (Promotion Mário Soares).
The Academy extends heartfelt condolences to his family and to his beloved. May his respectful remembrance be always with us as an inspiration and unforgettable symbol of ethos and integrity.
