REBOAT project: 2nd Plenary Meeting in Corfu & Paxos

The ReBoat consortium successfully held its 3-day Plenary Meeting (25-27 June 2025) across Corfu and Paxos, gathering partners to align on project progress and deepen their collaboration on circular solutions for island communities. Discussions spanned across several key Work Packages (WP)—ranging from pilot demonstration and digital tools (WP2 & WP5) to new tourism offerings (WP4), dissemination strategies (WP6), and market exploitation (WP7). Strategic technical sessions also addressed lab-scale waste analyses, the design of the mobile modular recycling unit (WP3), and participatory methodologies for engaging tourists, citizens, and artists in ReBoat’s activities. Field visits were conducted to candidate locations in Corfu (Harbor & Palaiokastritsa) and Paxos, assessing their suitability for the ReBoat Circus phase—the container's land-based public activation. The sessions combined hands-on planning, on-site exploration, and critical validation steps, all contributing to ReBoat’s mission of rethinking circularity in tourism-heavy island regions.

Complementing the technical work, ReBoat also hosted its 2nd Stakeholder Workshop in Corfu (27 June 2025), aimed at fostering strong local alliances and encouraging multi-level participation in the project's co-creational vision. Key regional actors—including the Corfu Port Authority (OLKE), the Solid Waste Management Body (FODSA), the Chamber of Commerce, municipal and regional authorities, and sustainability-minded local businesses like Salty Bags Corfu and Grecotel—joined the discussion. The workshop enabled meaningful exchanges between public and private sector representatives and laid the groundwork for ongoing cooperation, ensuring that ReBoat’s solutions are embedded in the local context and supported by active community engagement.
