EPLO and Italian Cooperation support Leadership Program in Jordan

The opening ceremony of the Leadership Program was held on September 20th at the Institute of Public Administration.

The Italian Government funds the project “Support to the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) of Jordan” through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), under implementation by the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) and in partnership with the Italian National School of Administration (SNA). It is in this framework that the Leadership Program is developed.

The Leadership Program is a cornerstone activity of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap (PSMR) and aims to create reform-minded leaders who will drive the implementation of the PMSR reforms in line with H.M King Abdulllah II vision. In the context of the program, 26 government officials (selected among more than 150 applicants through a very competitive process), will receive high quality training for a period of 4 months in topics such as leadership, policy planning, institutional culture development and change management.

On the side of the Government of Jordan, the ceremony was attended by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernization Mr. Nasser Shraideh, as well as the President of the Civil Service Bereau, H.E. Sameh Al-Nasser, H.E. the Minister of Interior Mr. Mazin Abdellah Hilal Al Farrayeh, H.E. the Minister of Social Development Ms. Wafa Bani Mustafa, H.E. the Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Dr. Nancy Namrouqa and several other high-level government officials.

Italy was represented by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Italian Embassy to Jordan, Mr. Emilio Fralleone, and the Head of AICS Amman Office, Mrs. Roxane Weber.

Mr. Fralleone said: The Leadership Program is a key milestone in the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, and Italy is proud to be a partner in this important initiative. We believe that investing in leadership development is essential for building a more efficient, effective, and responsive public sector in Jordan. The 26 government officials selected for this program are the future leaders of Jordan's public sector, and I am confident that they will play a vital role in driving the implementation of the PSMR reforms. I wish them all the best in their training.

All stakeholders involved in the PDMR celebrated in this event another successful initiative organized in line with the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap under the Italy-funded project “Support to the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) of Jordan”.
