The Italian Cooperation and EPLO launch a Training of Trainers Program for Civil Servants in Jordan

Amman - On June 11, 2023, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and the the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) launched a Training of Trainers Program for Civil Servants at the Institute of Public Administration in Amman, Jordan.

As part of the activities carried out in the framework of the Italy-funded project “Support to the Institute of Public Administration of Jordan” implemented by EPLO, the Program supports the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) in implementing Phase II of the initiative “Enhancing the Capabilities of Public Sector Workers in the Areas of Public Administration” of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap of Jordan.

The Training of Trainers Program will be delivered to 60 Civil Servants from different ministries and departments of the Government of Jordan from June 11 to 20, 2023, at the IPA. The 60 trainees have been selected among 1.576 Civil Servants who took part in a series of trainings -on Project Management, Integrated Management Skills and Service Delivery- organized in February and March this year under Phase I of the above-mentioned initiative.

The Training of Trainers aims at empowering the selected participants to effectively design and deliver impact-oriented, practical and interactive training sessions for the benefit of their colleagues in the respective ministries and government departments. The Training focuses on three topics which are of crucial importance for the Public Administration in Jordan: Project Management, Integrated Management Skills and Service Delivery. In particular, the Program provides the new trainers with a number of rigorous adult-learning tools and advanced training techniques to enhance the quality and impact of their future trainings. This will not only enhance the outcomes of the training, but also ensure the sustainability of the capacity building for the Public Administration of Jordan.

The Project “Support to the Institute of Public Administration of Jordan” aims at supporting the IPA in strengthening its institutional and organizational capacities in order to effectively carry out its mandate. In this view, the 18-month Project is providing technical assistance to enhance the IPA’s capacities, support to improve the IPA’s training programs, and training of trainer’s courses.
