Launch of Intellectual Property Rights Website in Kosovo

A comprehensive website on the Intellectual Property Rights System in Kosovo has been recently launched at the address: www.pronesiaintelektuale.com .

The website was developed in the framework of the Project “EU Support for the Intellectual Property Rights System in Kosovo”, funded by the European Union Office in Kosovo and implemented by IBF International Consulting and the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).

The website is a unique source of information for practitioners, stakeholders and the public about the Intellectual Property Rights system in Kosovo.

It aims to increase the awareness on the role and the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), which are critical for promoting innovation, competitiveness and economic growth in Kosovo.

The website features a broad collection of Handbooks, Manuals, Guidelines and other publications for practitioners and stakeholders, addressing all elements of IPR including Copyright, Trademarks, Patents, Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications and Designations of Origin, Trade Secrets and Enforcement.

These reference documents were developed by Kosovar and European Union experts and are available in Albanian, Serbian and English.

The website also includes a series of Animations, Videos and Comic Books, which present the key concepts of Intellectual Property Rights in a simple and effective way that is accessible to all audiences.

Furthermore, a section on Legislation provides links to the Legislation -Primary and Secondary- applicable to Intellectual Property Rights in Kosovo.

Over a three-and-a-half-year period, the Project “EU Support for the Intellectual Property Rights System in Kosovo” has supported the Kosovar Authorities in strengthening the institutional and legislative framework on IPR and aligning it to the European Union standards.
