Online event on the Evaluation of Judicial Officers
The online event on "Evaluation - Inspection of Judicial Officers.Problems and policy proposals" was held on Wednesday 14 July with great success by the Institute for Justice and Development of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).
The discussion opened with the Director of the European Public Law Organisation, Mr Spyridon Flogaitis, who welcomed the participants and praised the work of the Institute. The President of the Institute for Justice and Development, Mr. Nicolas Kanellopoulos, then stressed the importance of effective evaluation of judicial officers for a modern and efficient operation of the judicial system.
The keynote speaker of the event was the Minister of Justice, Mr Kostas Tsiaras, who analyzed the work of the Ministry of Justice and referred to the legislative initiatives he will undertake for the evaluation and inspection of judicial officers as well as for the reform of the operation of the School of Judges.
This was followed by interventions from Mr.Christoforos Kosmidis, Honorary Judge of the Supreme Court, Ms Agapi Chalkiadaki, State Counsel, Mr. Vassilis Androulakis, State Counsel, Mr. Lambros Tsogkas, Deputy Prosecutor of Appeals and Mr. Panagiotis Perakis, Lawyer, Vice President of the European Union of Lawyers (CCBE).
The event was moderated by Mr. Michalis Pikramenos, Vice-President of the Council of State.
