Vacancy for Editions Assistant / Officer

Position Title: Editions Assistant / Officer

Duty Station: Athens, Greece

Type of Appointment: Fixed-term renewable contract

The European Public Law Organization (EPLO), an International intergovernmental organization headquartered in Athens, Greece, is seeking an Assistant / Officer for the Editions Office.

Core Functions and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of the EPLO Editions Office, the Assistant / Officer will be responsible for the following main tasks:

  • Editing and proofreading of texts, introducing corrections and preparing proofs of the journal articles/books published by the EPLO.
  • Follow the publishing procedures required up to the appearance of each publication (graphic designers, press etc.).
  • Support the Director of the Editions Office in the administrative management and the coordination of the Office (e.g., perform all daily administrative tasks of the Editions Office, prepare and coordinate the shipment of the EPLO publications to the author(s) of each edition; organize and monitor the EPLO Publications stock; organize and maintain all Office documents; support the Office in its daily communication; manage incoming and outgoing correspondence; manage platforms necessary in the editing procedure).
  • Provide administrative support to the annual Conference organized by the EPLO and in events in which the EPLO Editions Office’s presence is required.
  • Updating the EPLO Publications website in collaboration with the EPLO Marketing Office.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills in English. Proficiency in French / Spanish and knowledge of a third language will be appreciated.
  • A University degree from an accredited academic institution.
  • Computer proficiency in standard software applications (MS Office, etc.)
  • Attention to detail, editing skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling)
  • 2-year professional relevant experience.

The knowledge of Greek and the experience in an international and multi-cultural environment will be appreciated.
