Vacancy for IT Assistant Officer

Position Title: IT Assistant Officer

Type of Appointment: Fixed-term renewable contract

The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) is seeking an IT Assistant Officer to support its IT needs in its headquarters in Athens.

Core Functions and Responsibilities

The IT Assistant Officer will be responsible for the following main tasks:

  • Providing day-to-day IT support to staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Maintenance and monitoring the Organization’s IT infrastructure.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Installing, configuring, and updating software and hardware if required.
  • Ensure security of IT systems, including data backup, antivirus protection and access controls.
  • Supporting the setup and smooth operation of virtual meetings, webinars etc.
  • Liaising with external IT service providers and vendors if needed.
  • Providing technical support for events of the Organization, including setting up audio-visual equipment, managing live streaming or hybrid meeting platforms, and ensuring smooth IT operations before, during, and after events.
  • Supporting the development of new internal applications and digital tools.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand IT needs and requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A University degree from an accredited academic institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and macOS and very good technical knowledge of IT systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Fluency (oral and written) in Greek and English language.
  • Experience in website development will be additionally appreciated.

The IT Assistant Officer shall be staff member of the EPLO and therefore an international civil servant.
