Vacancy for “Capitalization manager”

Position Title: Capitalization manager

Department/Office: Dept. of Technical Co-operation

Duty Station: Athens, Greece

Type of Appointment: Fixed-term contract

The EPLO implements a large number of programs funded by the European Union and other international donors, assisting governments and institutions around the world. The main areas of intervention comprise: governance, the rule of law, human rights, public administration, democratization, legislative approximation to the EU acquis, migration and sustainable development. The position is located within the Dept. of Technical co-operation of EPLO. The candidate will be involved in the Interreg Euro-MED Project “AQUAtic systems’ evaluation for the Mitigation of wAter scarcity in mediterranean islaNds and coastal tourist destinations under severe pressure”.

Responsibilities

The candidate is expected to:

  • support stakeholder management through active outreach to relevant project stakeholders
  • be responsible for all events, workshops, etc. of EPLO related to the project
  • assist in the facilitation of liaison activities with relevant stakeholders enabling awareness raising
  • assist EPLO in 5-helix engagement activities and in capacity building activities
  • coordinate and facilitate communication with other relevant thematic projects of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme (all 4 missions).
  • co-ordinates the project capitalization activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Experience

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in capitalization or advocacy or public relations positions
  • 8 years’ experience in events organization
  • Connections with influential stakeholders, events and fora.

Education

  • University degree from an accredited academic institution
  • Computer proficiency in standard software applications (MS Office, etc.)

Languages

  • Fluency (oral and written) in English is required.

  • Team Management and Leadership Skills: Capable of promptly and effectively monitoring, coordinating and communicating strategic objectives.
  • Professionalism: Knowledge and understanding of concepts and approaches relevant to a particular functional area. Ability to apply judgment in the context of assignments given, take initiative, plan own work and manage conflicting priorities. Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments and achieving results.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication, writing and presentation skills. Listening and communicating clearly and effectively, adapting delivery to the audience.
  • Planning and Organizing: Setting clear and achievable goals consistent with agreed priorities for self and others.
