The EPLO implements a large number of programs funded by the European Union and other international donors, assisting governments and institutions around the world. The main areas of intervention comprise: governance, the rule of law, human rights, public administration, democratization, legislative approximation to the EU acquis, migration and sustainable development. The candidate will be involved in the HORIZON Europe Project “Nutrient balance and Resource Optimization in Regional Ecosystems through holistic, sustainable, and zero-pollution solutions” – GREENHOOD.
GREENHOOD’s main objective is to demonstrate an effective approach to re-balance nutrient flows and reduce Nitrogen and Phosphorous emissions, in line with the upcoming EU Integrated Nutrient Management Action Plan (INMAP) and in accordance with the strategic documents of the EU’s Biodiversity Strategy, the Farm to Fork Strategy, the Zero Pollution Action Plan, and the Blue Economy strategy. Through targeted efforts in regional hotspots, guided by robust nutrient budgeting methodologies, and collaborative testing of diverse innovations with regional stakeholders, GREENHOOD aims to pave the way for societies to operate within safe ecological boundaries while satisfying socioeconomic needs. Five countries (Spain, Netherlands-Belgium, Norway, and Finland) will be participating in four demonstrators, each representing different cases of unbalanced regions and focusing on diverse emitting hotspots, including both diffuse and point-based emitting sectors.
Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to:
- monitor all EPLO activities/deliverables in the project
- be responsible for the communication with the Leading partner, the Consortium and the WP leaders
- support the identification of the regional needs, aligning them with innovative governance strategies
- support stakeholder engagement through strategies focused on policy makers
- support the analysis and experimentation of new governance models
- support the analysis of the policy lab methodologies
- contribute to the development of a governance lab methodology
- support the identification of policy gaps
- support the facilitation of liaison activities with relevant stakeholders, enabling awareness-raising and acceptance
- assist in the development of policy briefs
- participate in high-level events and align project results with EU Initiatives
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- University degree in environmental and/or agricultural or related sciences from an accredited academic institution
Experience
- At least 8 years of professional experience in projects (co-)funded by the European Union, specifically in areas related to sustainable development, sustainable innovation, green and blue growth and the circular economy
- At least 4 years of experience in stakeholder engagement approaches and co-creation methodologies and events’ organization
- At least 2 prior experiences as a Project manager in EU funded projects
- Experience in networking with stakeholders in green growth, blue growth and sustainable innovation.
Languages
- Fluency (oral and written) in English
