Vacancy for Communication Officer for the EPLO Rome Office

EPLO is currently seeking to recruit a Communication Officer for its Office in Rome, Italy.

Under the supervision of the Director of the Rome Office and the Headquarters' office in Athens, you will inter alia:

  • Collaborate to develop and implement an effective communications strategy;
  • Write, edit, and distribute content concerning publications, press releases, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material needed to communicate the organization's activities;
  • Monitor the Organization’s social media accounts on a local level, respond to digital enquiries and update the website content of the Organization’s websites;
  • Prepare/translate communication brochures and newsletters in the Italian language;
  • Conduct research to spot market trends and other similar competitive activities;
  • Respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews;
  • Establish and maintain a media database and digital media archives (photos, videos);
  • Prepare invitations and disseminate information for local events, as required;
  • Write Office announcements and news articles on the Organization’s activities;
  • Ensure that all marketing and communications material align with the Organization’s policy and standards.

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communication Studies, or Media studies or any similar field;
  • Previous experience, preferably in a marketing or communications position in an international and diverse environment;
  • Digitally savvy in the web environment and the use of web applications /software such as wordpress, canva, email platforms (brevo, mailchimp etc). Photoshop and/or illustrator knowledge will be considered an asset;
  • Creative thinking;
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a strong sense of thoroughness, accuracy, and consistency;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Good communication skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Italian. French or any other language(s) would be appreciated.

The Communication Officer will be a staff member of the EPLO (www1.eplo.int) and therefore an international civil servant. His/her net annual salary may be between 18.000 and 28.000 Euro, while health insurance will be provided as plus.

His/her physical presence in the Office is required.
