Tax and Accounting Academy
The EPLO Tax and Accounting Academy (in brief “Tax Academy”)
was founded by the EPLO with a view to promoting research in
the area of taxation and accounting and facilitating exchange of
views on tax and accounting issues. The Academy aims at setting
up a forum for exchange of ideas on tax and accounting issues
among the countries in which EPLO is active with ultimate
objective the creation of a think tank and a network to promote
best practices and cooperation.
Conference on Tax Compliance for Businesses
6 March 2023
The Tax and Accounting Academy in collaboration with the Association of Greek Industries (SBE) organized an
event on the topic: “Tax Compliance for Businesses: Practical Issues – Problems – Proposals” at the Porto Palace
hotel, in Thessaloniki. Welcome addresses were given by Dr. George S. Mavraganis on behalf of EPLO and Ms.
Loukia Sarantis, President of the Association. Interesting topics were developed by SBE lecturers and experts from
the field of business and taxation as well as by the President and the members of the Academy’s Scientific
Committee Dr. George S. Mavraganis, Professor Konstantinos Karamanis, Ms. Katerina Perrou, Mr. Dimitris
Tsagaris and Professor Eleni Theocharopoulou. The event was concluded with the remarks of the Governor of
AADE, Mr. Giorgos Pitsilis.
Conference on Tax Reform in Cyprus and the experience from Greece and the international trends
8 June 2023
The Tax and Accounting Academy in collaboration with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and
the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) organized an event on the topic: “Proposals on Tax
Reform in Cyprus and the experience from Greece and the international trends” at the Bank of Cyprus, in
Nicosia, Cyprus. The conference was supported by EKO Cyprus, Taxand Cyprus and CSC Christodoulou. Welcome
addresses were given by Dr. George S. Mavraganis, President of the Academy’s Scientific Committee, Mr. Angelos
