           Now celebrates its 29  session

           New Curatorium and new Director of the AEPL

                                        The Academy of European Public Law is academically under the responsibility
                                        of its Academic Director, the Alternate Academy Director and the Curatorium
                                        and  it  forms  part  of  the  ELGS.  In  December  2022,  the  structure  of  the
                                        Curatorium changed and new members were appointed. The Curatorium has
                                        an Honorary President and is composed of top-ranking lawyers from all over
                                        the world.
           The Curatorium is composed of:

           Isaac Martín Delgado, Professor, University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain
           Flora Goudappel, Professor, Dean School of Law, University of Curaçao, Curaçao, Kingdom of the Netherlands
           Thomas Gross, Professor, University of Osnabrück, Germany
           Ludmila Malíková, Professor, University of Slovakia, Slovakia

           A new Academic Director, Prof. Anikó Szalai, Assoc. Professor, University of Szeged, was also appointed and
           succeeded Prof. Gordon Antony who served successfully this position for several years.

           The Academy of European Public Law celebrated its 28  session last summer and its 29  session this summer,

           successfully training more than 500 students since its inception. The  2022 AEPL, which was concluded on 10
           September 2022, was attended by fourteen students and four successfully defended their thesis dissertation.
           Moving onto the 2023 AEPL, the program started on 28 August 2023, and is held in hybrid format, both online
           and on premise. The program will conclude on 16 September 2023 with the award of Certificates and Diplomas,
           as every year. This year, five students are scheduled to defend their theses as part of the AEPL I.LL.M program.

           The lecturers of this year’s session are:
           Vasilka Sancin, Professor, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia: “Current Challenges of Human Rights Law”.
           Anikó Szalai, Associate Professor, University of Szeged, Hungary: “Business and Human Rights”.
           Yutaka  Arai,  Professor,  Brussels  School  of  International  Studies,  Kent  University:  “Fundamental  Rights  and
           Technology”.
           Maria De Benedetto, Professor, Roma Tre University, Italy: “Anti-corruption Strategies”.

           The AEPL welcomes one or more annual guest lecturer(s). The guest lecturers for the year 2023 are:
           Nilay Arat, Associate Professor, Kadir Has University, Turkey: “Sustainability, human rights and the state”.
           Pascale  Gonod,  Professor,  Université  Paris  1  -  Panthéon  Sorbonne:  “Le  principe  d’égal  accès  aux  fonctions
           publiques en Europe (étude comparée)”.
           Eser Karakaş, Professor, University of Strasbourg, France: “Law and Economics”.
