Mission to the UN in Vienna

During this period, the EPLO representation at the UN in Vienna participated in all major activities held and/or
organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. EPLO was present in all major events and initiatives
at the UN and international diplomatic community in Vienna. EPLO made public statements in all relevant UN
meetings held, including the annual meetings of the two major governing bodies, the UN Commission on Narcotic
Drugs (CND) and the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ). In particular, the following
sessions of the principal UN bodies in Vienna were attended.
Attendances:
5-8 September 2022
Intersessional meeting of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against
Corruption on the achievements of the political declaration adopted by the special session of the General
Assembly against corruption.

21-22 September 2022
CND thematic discussions on the implementation of all international drug policy commitments, following up to
the 2019 Ministerial Declaration. The discussions focused on the implementation of the drug control convention
and on human rights obligations.
