Distance Learning Program for Greek Civil Servants

The Institute offers modern tools and innovative methods in the design and implementation of integrated interventions on an institutional, organizational and operational basis. With regard to Training, the Institute offers tailor made educational programs with respect to the needs of the target audience. Our trainers derive from the EPLO network of experts and constitute eminent professionals and academics with proven record both in Greece and abroad.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES OPEN FOR PARTICIPATION

1) Distance Learning Programs

α) New Training Program on the "Psychosocial dimensions inProfessional Relations - Development of handling skills"

This program is part of the educational activities of the Institute, in order to respond to the current increasing needs of the social system for 'lifelong' learning through alternative education programs.

The program aims to develop knowledge and skills that will enable trainees to better understand the relation dynamics and behaviors within the workplace and handle them effectively. Project effectiveness is reliant not only to reversing the causes that have drawn to the conflict, but also to the reconstruction of relationships of co-workers. This can be achieved taking into consideration the hierarchy within a mutual benefit context, mainly as a result of a dynamic understanding of the opportunities, constraints and roles of each individual and not enforced.

The program is addressed to: public servants and employees from all levels of public administration and local Government (OTA 1st and 2nd grade categories of IP, TE and DE), accross all levels of responsibility.

The first cycle of the program started on June 10, 2015. Due to the increased participation the program is repeated in cycles.

The program's duration is 350 hrs and is certified while civil servants will have the opportunity to gain 50 points while the cost is really affordable.

The European Institute of Management and Governance of the EPLO  as an official partner of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU -OSHA), and a participating member of the European Campaign for Healthy Workplaces, it has incorporated this program in this year's campaign activities.

b) Training Program on "Financing Tools and Mechanisms of the European Union and other international bodies'

It aims: to develop knowledge and skills in order to tackle and better utilize financing opportunities offered within the context of the European Union and the international environment.

Target audience: civil servants and employees of all levels of Public Administration and Local Government (OTA 1st and 2nd grade categories of IP, TE and DE). Civil servants through this program will gain 50 points. The program addresses those who wish to exercise responsibilities in planning and project management or social programs with funding opportunities through international and European programs.

Program Structure: Certified e-learning program of 350 hours, repeated regularly. This program useful program benefits from the specialized knowledge and experience of the scientists and experts involved as well as its flexible and easy- to-use format.

2) Center for Dialogue

The Center for Dialogue of the European Institute of Management and Governance aims to promote the structured dialogue (as methodology and practice), in order to resolve collective disputes and to lead to policy creation. 
The Dialogue Center uses, among other techniques, the Structured Democratic Dialogue (SDD approach) in collaboration with the Institute for 21st Century Agoras (www.globalagoras.org). The Structured Democratic Dialogue Process – SDDP is a deeply reasoned, scientific methodology for large-scale, collaborative design, which promotes conflict resolution between communities, interest groups, countries, cultures and religions by creating convergences and producing policies. These policies are created at international, EU, national and local level through the cooperative resolution of issues. The SDD approach formulates mutual benefit solutions (win-win solutions). Moreover, SDD utilizes techniques of "collective wisdom" (dimosophia) in order to facilitate the stakeholders to achieve consensus and overcome any resistance encountered in the process of convergence concepts.

This Science of Dialogic Design has 3  Axioms, 6  Consensus Building Methods,  7  Language Patterns,  4  Stages of Interactive Inquiry and   6  Laws of Dialogue

The methodology of Structured Democratic Dialogue, which counts more than four decades of practicing around the world, has been selected by leading international and public organizations to resolve complex problems (in the last ten years mostly) with tangible results where other methods have failed. This methodology is considered the most appropriate for solving complex problems, whose solution in any other case would seem literally impossible. Furthermore, it achieves fair and equitable composition of different views in order to create consensus among the participants.

3) Official Participation in the Campaign of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA)

The European Institute of Management and Governance of the EPLO has been officially accepted as a partner in the campaign of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA).This Agency is committed to making Europe a safer, healthier and more productive place to work. It promotes a culture of risk prevention with the aim to improve working conditions in Europe. For the years 2013-2015 a pan-European campaign about the stress in workplace has been initiated and has been renewed for the years 2016-17.
