EUNIDA, a European Network of EU Member States Implementing Development Agencies, was established in 2000 with a public mandate to develop, manage and implement sustainable development programs on behalf of the European Union.The EPLO, representing Greece, is the main partner organization with a recognized expertise in the elds of Public Administration reform, Good Governance, EU acquis approximation and Human Rights protection. Through EUNIDA, the EPLO contributes to fostering the delivery of European expertise in fragile states.Over the past two years, the EPLO actively contributed to the improvement of the internal governance of the Network, by proposingchanges and supporting the reform efforts of those members committed to an even more inclusive, and more pan-European, approach to Technical Assistance to the bene t of the EU Partner Countries. As a part of this contribution, the EPLO Deputy Director for Management,Ms Piji Protopsaltis, has served as Vice-President of the Board of Directors of EUNIDA in 2013and continued doing so in 2014. Furthermore, the EPLO Representative in Brussels, Mr. Panos Gredis, served as Chairman of the EUNIDA Working Group on Project Management in 2013.Moreover, the EPLO had the honor to host the third of the four annual EUNIDA Board of Directors meetings on October 1, 2013 at its premises in Sounion.The EPLO Initiative of the Global Network of Greek LawyersAfter the successful launch of the Global Network of Greek Lawyers working abroad (GNGL) in 2011, the GNGL has reached an impressive membership gure of almost 60 thanks to the continuous efforts of Dr. Giorgos Dimitropoulos, Advisor to the Director of the EPLO, as the initiator of the GNGL idea.The EPLO organized, in cooperation with the Institute for Studies in Competition Law and Policy (IMEDIPA), the GNGL and the Gutenberg chair at the Centre d‘expertiseet de recherche administrative (CERA) of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration in France,the rst conference with the title “The Modern State: What Reforms?” on July 27, 2012, at the EPLO premises in Sounion.The meeting aimed at examining crucial aspects of the reform of the State and discussing their applicationin Greece. High-level of cials from the justice and executive branches, independent administrative authorities,the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA),academics, politicians and journalists were present at the event. The EPLO organized on July 26, 2013, a GNGL Workshop with the title “European Integration through Crisis” at its premises in Sounion.It examined the issue of European integration based on economic and more general conditions, which apply at both the European and International level, aimed at the conducting of scienti c discussion andthe formulation of substantive conclusions.ACTIVITY REPORT 2016 63
