Institutional development the topic “Financing and Implementing the post-2015 Development Agenda”, which took place on October 20-24, 2014 in Washington, D.C., but also as an ‘expert-on-call’ on the theme/topic “Administrative litigation and public procurement law”. The EPLO continued its engagement by also actively participating in the LJD week in 2015 (26-30 October 2015) in Washington, D.C.The EPLO is currently exploring further elds of cooperation with the GFLJD whichmay include, amongst other, enforcing its engagement in a Thematic Working Group as co-leader or creating a new TWG or Community of Practice on a key area of interest andaction, preparing joint pilot project proposals on various fronts, as well as organizing the secondment of EPLO interns and/or students to the GFLJD Secretariat.The EPLO, a founding member of the IACA (International Anti-Corruption Academy)The EPLO signed as the rst International Organization the Agreement for the Establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in fall 2010, highlighting together with 35 UN Member States the strong commitment tojoin forces in the ght against corruption. IACAis a joint initiative of the United Nations Of ceon Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Republic of Austria, the European Anti-Fraud Of ce (OLAF) and other stakeholders and is a pioneering institution that aims to overcome currentshortcomings in knowledge and practice in the eld of anti-corruption. The appointed Permanent Representative of the EPLO to the IACA, Dr. Ioannis Karkalis, Vice-Commissioner of the State and Director of the Academy of Transparency and Human Rights for Good Governance, went on several missions to the Headquarters of IACA in Vienna during the last two years to discharge the membership obligations of the EPLO and deepen the relations between the two organizations. Ms Ef e Lyristi, Director of the Of ce of General Legal Affairs, Of ce of the Legal Counsel, has been appointed as Deputy Representative of the EPLO to the IACA.Cooperation with theUnited NationsIn line with the purposes of the EPLO, as outlined in its Statute, the EPLO is working towards forging cooperation with organizations in the United Nations (UN) system. Following this very speci c mandate and after the Director’s visit at the UN Headquarters in New York in 2011 where he met with the Deputy Director-General HE Mrs. Asha-Rose Migiro to discuss the possibilitiesfor developing institutional relations with the United Nations and received a very encouraging feedback, the EPLO has started the procedure to apply for the status of Observer in the General Assembly of the UN.62 ACTIVITY REPORT 2016
