These views and concerns were raised by Professor Jean-Bernard Auby in his speech. During his speech, he argued among other things that there is need for scal integration in the European Union and a federalization of the system. He noted the “lack of solidarity” and stressed that “only through more Europe we can overcome the crisis.” A dialogue with the audience followed his speech.The distinguished speaker was presented to the audience - mainly politicians, diplomats, lawyers, scientists and academics - by the Director of the EPLO Prof. Spyridon Flogaitis.The event was the 12th in the series ofinternational conferences established bythe EPLO in memory of Manuel Chrysoloras (1355-1415), the Greek scholar, a leader in the introduction of Greek culture and literature in Western Europe.Jean-Bernard Auby teaches administrative law (French and comparative), planning law, local government law, law and globalization. From 1998 to 2000, he was a visiting professor at Oxford University and Deputy Director of the Institute of European and Comparative Law.
