TECHNICAL COOPERATIONSTATE FOCUSSERBIAStrengthening Capacities of the High Judicial Council & the State Prosecutorial CouncilThe EPLO is involved as a partner in the project focusing to Strengthening Capacities of the High Judicial Council and the State Prosecutorial Council in Serbia.The overall objective of the project, that started in 2015 and has a duration of two years, is to strengthen the independence, ef ciency, competence and accountability of the judicial system by building capacities of the independent bodies in order to ensure ef cient assumption of the jurisdiction. The speci c objective is to enhance functioning of Serbian High Judicial and State Prosecutorial Councils by improving their professionalism, management competences and technical capacities for effective and ef cient delivery of justice.The independence of the judiciary is guaranteed and ensured bythe Constitution of the Republic of Serbia. In recent years signi cant reforms within the judicial sector have been implemented in orderto strengthen the independence, professionalism, accountability, administration and management of the judicial system and its representative institutions.The activities of the program are designed in order to reach the three expected results of the project and the action plan of National Judicial Reform strategy on annual basis:1. Administrative capacities of HJC and SPC improved2. Process of evaluation and promotion of judges and public prosecutors improved3. Mechanisms for disciplinary accountability of judges and public prosecutor improved.infoThe project is funded by the European Commission. The EPLO is a partner.
