Training Seminars in Athens and CyprusAfour-day training seminar, part of the 14-month project “Training of National Judges in Bulgaria, Cyprus and Greece on Enforcement of EU Competition Law” for Judicial and Prosecutorial Of cials, was held from September 29 to October 2, 2015 in Athens.The “Training Seminar for National Judges in Greece on Enforcement of EU Competition Law” was organized by the EPLO in close cooperation with the Hellenic Competition Commission and the Association of Greek Judges and Prosecutors.Athens The Seminar provided in-depth and practical training to 53 Greek judges and prosecutors on the key issues involved in the enforcement of EU Competition Law in Greece, including merger control, state aid rules, public and private enforcement, and sector speci c issues. The judges and prosecutors participating to the Seminar belonged to the Hellenic Council of State, the Administrative Court of Appeal of Athens, and the Civil Courts of Athens and the provinces.All participants were granted a certi cate of attendance. Another three-day training seminar, part of the same project, was held from November 2 to 4, 2015, in Nicosia, Cyprus for Cypriot Judicial and Prosecutorial Of cials on enforcement of European Competition Law.Cyprus The event was organized by the EPLO in close cooperation with the Supreme Court of Cyprus, at the premises of which the seminar was carried out, the Commission for the Protection of Competition of Cyprus, and the Institute of Studies in Competition Law and Policy (IMEDIPA).The Seminar provided in-depth and practical training to 20Cypriot judges and prosecutors on the key issues involved in theenforcement of EU Competition Law in Cyprus, including mergercontrol, state aid rules, public and private enforcement, andsector speci c issues. The judges and prosecutors participating to the Seminar belonged to the Supreme Court, District Courts and the Law Of ce of the Republic of Cyprus.ACTIVITY REPORT 2016 109
