The jointly awarded winners of Thesis Prize 2014 Dr. Yaniv Roznai, the London School of Economics and Political Science, for the Thesis “Unconstitutional Constitutional Amendments: A Study of the Natureand Limits of Constitutional Amendments Powers” and Dr. Hanan Qazbir, University of Toulouse, for the Thesis “L’internationalisation du droit constitutionnel”.The Luis Ortega Thesis PrizeIN MEMORY of Professor Luis Ortega, former Director of the Academy of European Public Law, long-standing member of the European Group of Public Law, member of the EPLO Board of Directors, and member of the Board of Editors of the European Review of Public Law, the Academy of European Public Law is honored to announce the launch of the Professor Luis Ortega Thesis Prize.The thesis prize will be awarded on an annual basis to the best IILLM thesis, at the annual Conference of the European Group of Public Law. The Theses will be reviewed by an international jury and preferencewill be given to the thesis with a focuson interests held by Luis Ortega, which included Constitutional Law and European Integration.In 2015 the newly established “Luis Ortega” Thesis Prize was awarded tothe Academy student Andrea Magliari,for his thesis on “The Single Supervisory Mechanism and the application of national law(s) by the European Central Bank”.More on Professor Luis Ortega Álvarez: He was an active Judge at the Spanish Constitutional Court from 2011 – 2015 as well as a Professor of Administrative Law at many Universities.ACTIVITY REPORT 2016 59
