The European Public Law Organization (EPLO) is the continuation of the European Public Law Center (EPLC). The European Public Law Center was established in 1995 under the Law of the Hellenic Republic as a Greek, non-pro t, institution of international character, aiming at the study and research, pure and applied, as well as training in all areas of public law in Europe, including national, comparative and European Law.The DirectorProfessor Spyridon Flogaitis is the Director and President of the Board of Directors of the EPLO. He is Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Athens, Attorney at Law at the High Court and the Council of State of Greece, former President of the United Nations Administrative Tribunal and former Acting Minister of Interior of Greece (2007 and 2009). In August 2015, has been appointed as Alternate Foreign Minister responsible for European Affairs in Greece'snew caretaker Government headed by Prime Minister Ms Vassiliki Thanou.He was born in Lefkas (Greece) and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Athens with a degree in Law. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and a PhD in History from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He speaks English, French, German, Italian and Greek and he is the author of many publications in the area of public law. He was awarded with the distinction of Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur of the French Republic and the distinction of Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito of the Italian Republic.ACTIVITY REPORT 2016 25
