MA in Canon and Islamic Law

Duration: One academic year (October to June)

Courses: 8 lessons and a dissertation after the completion of the exams.

The lectures will be two-hour, divided into two semesters.

1st Semester:

- Sources of Islamic Law, Assistant Professor Kyriakos Nikolaou-Patragas, University of Athens

- Public Law of Islam, Associate Professor Aimilia Themopoulou & Ass. Professor Kyriakos Nikolaou-Patragas, University of Athens

- Sources of Canon Law, Professor Kelly Bourdara, University of Athens

- General Canon Law, Associate Professor Eirini Christinaki-Glarou, University of Athens

 

2nd Semester:

- Private Islamic Law, Ass. Professor Kyriakos Nikolaou-Patragas, University of Athens

- Criminal Islamic Law, Ass. Professor Kyriakos Nikolaou-Patragas, University of Athens

- Religious International Law, Αrchimandrite Professor Gregorios Papathomas, Theological School of Athens

- Greek Ecclesiastical Law, Professor Irene Christinaki-Glarou, University of Athens

Tuition Language: Greek

Elective courses: Legal concepts of the Arabic language and its elements. (The lesson will be without a score mark and a certificate of attendance will be offered)

Admission Requirements: University Degree from a Greek University of non-Greek equivalent (legal recognition of the diploma by DOATAP). Excellent knowledge of Greek. Also knowledge of an additional foreign language is considered an asset.

Selection procedure: By interview

Number of students admitted: Will not exceed the 10 students.

Place: EPLO premises in Plaka, Athens.
