Prof. Dr. László Trócsányi appointed Rector of the Gáspár Károli University

On 31 January 2022, the President of the Hungarian Republic, János Áder has appointed Prof. Dr. László Trócsányi – an esteemed member of the EPLO Board of Trustees – as the Rector of the Gáspár Károli University of the Reformed Church in Budapest. He is going to hold this office until 31 January 2027, for a period of five years. Prof. Trócsányi – a former attorney, constitutional court judge, two-time ambassador and minister of justice – is a professor of constitutional law from the University of Szeged, teaching and researching the European aspects of national constitutional law, among others constitutional identity. Besides holding a seat at the European Parliament, he currently teaches constitutional law the Faculty of Law of the Gáspár Károli University in Budapest and European legal subjects as part of different programs at the International and Regional Studies Institute at the University of Szeged, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.
