Official Launch of the EPLO/ISD Blue Accelerators Platform for Sustainable Ocean Economy

The Institute for Sustainable Development of EPLO has been established with the aim to support all forms of Sustainable Development and the implementation of the SDGs, through policy, best practices, capacity building, training and research. Sustainable Blue Economy falls within its mandate, and this field is a key development sector for the European Union and the rest of the world, with the European Commission supporting Sustainable Blue Economy, and with an updated Action Plan of the Atlantic strategy Group.

The EPLO has formally established the Blue Accelerators Platform for Sustainable Ocean Economy (in brief: the EPLO/ISD Blue Platform), as part of the EPLO Institute for Sustainable Development, its seat being at the facilities of EPLO in Cascais, Portugal and aiming to contribute at the achievement of smart governance of the Ocean based on SDGs.

Mr. Ruben Eiras, PhD, former Director General for Maritime Policy of the Ministry of the Sea of Portugal, has been appointed the EPLO/ISD Blue Platform Coordinator and visited the EPLO facilities in Cascais on Monday, July 20th, 2020 to officially launch the EPLO/ISD Blue Platform
