The Academy for Transparency & Human Rights in Vienna

The Academy for Transparency & Human Rights is representing the European Public Law Organization at the 7th session of the UNCAC Conference of States Parties against Corruption (7th COSP). From 6 to 10 November 2017 representatives of 183 States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) met in Vienna. This biennial anti-corruption gathering is the most important global event for checking progress on the UNCAC and for strengthening efforts in the fight against corruption. About 1,000 government officials have attended the meeting, together with representatives of intergovernmental agencies and civil society organisations (CSOs).
The ATHR/EPLO delegation consisted of the Director of the Academy for Transparency & Human Rights, Dr Dimitris Ziouvas, Panagiotis Alexopoulos and Dr D. Athanasouli. The work of the European Public Law Organization was presented on the 8th of November by Dr. D. Ziouvas at the plenary. The EPLO was also presented at a pavilion located  at the conference foyer. 

During the same period between 6-10 November, 2017 also in Vienna, the Academy for Transparency & Human Rights of the EPLO organized a training program for students  on Transparency & Anti-Corruption. This educational activity took place for the first time and included lectures and workshops as well as study visits and participation in special events of the 7th Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.
